In the years leading up to the largest free interdenominational Christian music festival in Montana, an idea began working in the hearts of two brothers, Paul and Jon Leach, to offer a fun, entertaining, and life-changing event to members of the community and beyond. With all of the success of their oil and gas construction company, it seemed right to give back to the community and share the free message of Jesus Christ with anyone who was willing to come.
In 2006, DownPour Music Festival kicked off an annual event held in August offering Christian music and entertainment to draw people who may never enter a church building into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The team behind DownPour realized that the bands and performers might only “plant a seed” towards developing true relationship with God, but over the last six years more than four hundred people have received salvation. The DownPour team also realized that those who gave their life to Christ needed to get plugged into solid Bible believing churches to develop them into fully devoted followers. A plan was put in place to follow up with each and every person who gave their life to the Lord and help them find churches that met their individual needs.
Today, DownPour not only continues to be a statewide event that brings people far away from Go
d into relationship with Him, but it also brings two hundred Christian volunteers from around Montana into Great Falls to staff the festival. The DownPour team is proud to acknowledge that it truly is the Church coming together to fulfill Christ’s command to work together as one body and bring the lost to Him.
